Antes de Carla Ventora, hubo Carla. Una madrileña enamorada de los tejidos, de los cortes y de las historias que cada prenda guarda dentro. Esta es su historia —y, en buena parte, también la nuestra.
LOS INICIOS

OCHENTA
Desde pequeña, Carla dibujaba vestidos en los márgenes de sus cuadernos del colegio. Mientras sus amigas jugaban en los recreos, ella observaba a las mujeres pasar por la Gran Vía y soñaba con el día en que sus prendas vestirían a alguien.
Estudió diseño, recorrió ferias en Milán y en París y trabajó durante años en pequeños talleres de barrio aprendiendo a coser a mano, a entender los tejidos, a respetar el oficio. La moda nunca fue para ella un negocio —fue una forma de cuidar a las personas.

LAS PUERTAS
Un local pequeño en pleno centro de Madrid. Las paredes recién pintadas, los percheros vacíos esperando y una caja registradora prestada por un amigo. Aquel mes de abril, Carla giró la llave por primera vez y colgó el cartel sobre la puerta: Carla Ventora — Moda para vivir.
No vino mucha gente el primer día. Pero la mujer que entró a las cinco de la tarde y salió con un vestido de lino crudo escribió, sin saberlo, la primera línea de esta historia.

5th Anniversary — 2004
We filled the shop with white flowers and opened a glass of cava with every client who walked in that Saturday. Five years. More than three thousand women dressed. A family that had grown without us realizing it.
The Digital Leap — 2020
The world shut down, but our desire to keep dressing you didn't. That May, we launched carlaventora.com and, for the first time, a client from Bilbao ordered a dress from us without ever having met us. We cried when we printed that first label.
25th Anniversary — 2024
A quarter of a century. A quarter of a century. We wrote it twice because we still can't believe it. We gathered you at the store with champagne and gave each of you a white rose with your name handwritten on it. Some of you cried. We did too.

YOU ARE THE SOUL OF CARLA VENTORA
More than 6,800 women have worn our garments. Some came for their wedding dress. Others were looking for the perfect coat for an interview, or the outfit with which to celebrate a promotion, or simply something beautiful on any given Tuesday.
Each one of you is a part of this story. Without you, Carla Ventora would have been nothing more than a sign on a door.

Un giro que no esperábamos
A principios de este año, Carla sufrió un accidente cerebrovascular. Estuvo varias semanas en el hospital. Su familia, su equipo, sus clientas más cercanas —todas contuvimos la respiración.
Hoy, gracias a una recuperación que solo podemos llamar milagro, Martina está en casa. Pero su vida ha cambiado para siempre, y la nuestra con ella.
WHY WE SAY GOODBYE
After months of conversations, Carla has asked us to close. Not with sadness—but with the calm of someone who knows they have given it their all.
Twenty-five years are a whole lifetime of designs, of fabrics, of women who walked through our doors and took a small piece of Carla with them. The garments remaining in our warehouse are the last ones that Carla personally selected, one by one, before she was admitted.
That is why we want each one to find its home. That is why we are applying discounts that we have never applied before—up to 70%. It is not a marketing promotion. It is a farewell.
